Cape Point Fishing Trip

Experience an exhilarating Cape Point fishing trip, exploring South Africa’s breathtaking coastline. Enjoy a half-day adventure aboard a fully equipped boat, passing scenic spots like Buffels Bay and the Cape of Storms lighthouse. Try your hand at yellowtail fishing in the stunning waters while spotting marine life such as seals, whales, and pelagic birds. With expert guides and picturesque views, this trip offers a memorable ocean safari for fishing enthusiasts.

Leaving Simons Town just as the sun rises over the False Bay mountain range, will leave you breathless at its beauty. The trip itself, to Cape Point, is approximately 45 minutes to an hour during which you will experience encounters with Cape Fur seals, maybe some whales and often some Pelagic birds.

We will find a good spot to anchor and fish. Most of the fishing will be catch and release and you are welcome to take home a fish “ for the pan”.

While heading back to Simon’s Town, don’t forget to take a picture of the incredible Roman Rock Lighthouse! It’s the only lighthouse along our coast that stands on a single rock, so you’ll be carrying a piece of the Cape of Storms history with you.

We have a very high success rate, but we are in the ocean. Please be aware of this, so you do not arrive with unrealistic expectations. There are days when we do not catch any fish. Marine animal sightings and activity are never guaranteed and even during peak whale season, there may be days when the sightings are lower than expected.

Simon’s Town, sometimes spelt Simonstown, is a town in the Western Cape, South Africa and is home to Naval Base Simon’s Town, the South African Navy’s largest base. It is located on the shores of False Bay, on the eastern side of the Cape Peninsula. For more than two centuries it has been a naval base and harbour.
